My Involvement

Lorna & Robert live in America, Lorna originally from Derbyshire in the UK had moved to America with her family and then met American Bob! They had already decided upon Breadsall Priory for their traditional English inspired wedding but realised they needed a point of contact in the UK who could liaise with and source the remaining suppliers on their behalf.

Weeks and numerous emails later I had discovered what Lorna & Bob wanted from their big day, they had decided that they wanted a church wedding and had already made communications with the Church in Lorna’s Grandma’s village just outside Derby. It was my job to pick up where they had left off and source the remaining suppliers. I made sure all my emails were full of details, photographs and links to help them make informed decisions. I even visited the florist and photographed the actual flowers that would be used in the bouquets so Lorna could begin to imagine how everything would look on the day. I also suggested a suitable hair & make-up artist, car hire company, cake maker and a venue dressing company to complement their style and theme. Once agreed by the bride and groom, I continued to liaise with all their suppliers and the venue to ensure all the details were finalised in time.

I didn’t actually meet the bride and groom until the day before their wedding when they checked in at the hotel, It was strange as it felt like we had know each other for years! After a quick meeting to finalise the details, I left them and their travelling guest to explore the hotel and surrounding area.

The big day arrived and went perfectly, even with the typical English wet weather, the rain held off long enough for Dave and Emma to capture some amazing photographs in the grounds at Breadsall.

It was a great experience meeting all their American guests who thoroughly enjoyed the ‘English Wedding’. To show their gratitude, I was showered with gifts, hugs and high fives! It was a delight working on Lorna & Bob’s behalf and watching them have the most wonderful day.
