My Involvement

Maria & Richard live in America and decided to return to Richard’s home town of Chesterfield, Derbyshire to celebrate their marriage.

They contacted me over a year ago and the planning begun with a full venue search, I suggested many venues and after visiting their favourites, Maria & Richard finally decided upon The Maynard for their traditional English wedding.

Maria & Richard then returned home to America and left the rest of the arrangements in my capable hands. The brief was for all things English and they set their heart on marrying in the local church with a full choir. With a blue and ivory colour scheme decided upon, I then suggested local suppliers who could provide photography, flowers, decorations and the wedding cake to complement their style and theme.

Maria & Richard returned to England for the final month of planning to finalise all the arrangements, we had a busy few weeks with cake tasting, their engagement photo shoots, venue and supplier meetings, suit fittings and hair & make-up trials. During this time It was my job to look after all their travelling guests, arranging transport and accommodation and advising them how to make the most of their visit to Chesterfield, England. As I live in Chesterfield, I know the area very well therefore was able to advise the best places to eat, sleep and shop!

The wedding day came and run like clockwork, all the suppliers and the venue did a fantastic job and we certainly showed their American guests how well we can arrange a wedding here in England!

The weather was even on our side and stayed bright long enough for Simon to capture all the wonderful photos.
